Admirals/Generals are the flag officers of STARFLEET. They are superior to the rank below their current (i.e.: Vice admiral is superior to Rear Admiral). All current admirals of STARFLEET are members of the council of admirals. There shall be no officer with flag rank who is not a member of the council of admirals unless they served previously on the council.

Commodore is the rank for those who have earned a command position in STARFLEET. A division commander is the leader of their division. They are required to do all things needed to improve their division: recruit, train officers, elect squad CO's and XO's and submit to the admiral's council those they feel deserve promotions, demotions and medals. In addition, they are required to make regular reports to command regarding their division activities and readiness. The CO of a division should also be training their XO for full division command in the event the CO must pass down their duties.

Non-Commissioned Officers

Non Commissioned offers (NCO'S) are Starfleet members who do not wish to be, or have not reached the stage where they can be so intensely involved in the day to day running of SF and its divisions in the same way an fully commissioned officer would be. They however may fill roles within the division of up to squad commander and may work in certain departments within Starfleet. It is important to note that a NCO after this rank may apply to become an officer, If a person has served for more than 18 months he or she may apply to the council for this to be taken into consideration. No member has a right to become and officer, upon receiving the request to become an officer the dean of the academy will consider the application, references from their CO and any other parties that have had experience with the member applying need to be reviewed. Dean of The Academy and the Primary Division CO must come to a agreement on whether the application is to be accepted or if the person is to continue as a NCO for the time being.

Scientists

Starfleet members who are looking for a more relaxed and less committed membership. Doctors are free of the many military requirements that Starfleet has but are still required to be respectful to superior authority while following the CoC. All persons joining Starfleet have the option of joining the military or being a Doctor in the Scientists tier. Joining the military means commitment to holding that rank and other responsibilities. Being a Doctor frees you from all major responsibilities giving you just a plain and simple membership in Starfleet.
