Hello all, I am happy to announce that I have logged in to all my characters in STO. There is still a serious graphics issue that is yet to be worked out. But all the menus work fine and I have 6 months of catching up to do! It takes a lot of reading and scrolling around, a little trial and error. Greetings all, The exchange rate between zen and dilithium has fallen from 400 dilithium per zen to 270 as of December 2nd. I theorize this is due to the new Phoenix prize box and its 4,500 dilithium price. Players are selling zen like mad. This is good news for those who would like to save up zen for the new ships coming out soon.

Hello fellow fleet members, There was a week of downtime in STO waiting for someone on reddit to post a fix. It is a simple fix to an earlier version of wine version: 1.7.22-d3force In the play on mac app, configure Steam to use this older version. I have not experienced any change in performance or crashes. Your graphics settings will be reset. See you on the new K-13 fleet holding! ThetaZen

Hello fellow Trekkers, Commander Theta with your STO update. Im sure everyone is knee deep in retro garb by now. So lets proceed with most commonly asked questions and ways to have fun! First big thing I noticed is BONUS DILITHIUM. A temporary additional trait has been added to give bonus dili based on rank of opponent killed. Additional bonuses for teaming up with other temporal agents. I chose to run the 1-20 ranks on Epic difficulty to take advantage of this. There is a hard to find Temporal Probe on the Kuva magh episode, It is said to be between the 3rd and 4th bombs. Half way up the hill in the east. However, when I went back, it was directly north of the beam in point. Giving rise to the theory that the probes change positions. If you don't like fixing Ferengi replicators, remember this sequence: Replicators, Environmental, Gravity, Defense, Environmental, Replicators. Later on Drozana station you must fix Cassidy a drink. Ask for Scotty's advise and try this drink recipe: Warm, Sour, Just Enough Kick, Stem glass, Honey. Don't forget to visit the temporal agent outside Admiral Quinn's office to pick up goodies from the Delta Expansion. My opinion is yes, it is short, but, lol, its fun! Getting through the first briefings and into the first Cylon battle. It is hard with all the new keys to remember but that is what is cool about it. Flying a Mk VII Viper takes some practice to say the least. Progressing day by day, soon to try multi-player!

Hello all, I have rejoined STO with a quick and easy solution. There is more than one solution [Wine, Bootcamp, Play on Mac, etc.]. The article below describes them. I ended up using "Play on Mac" to install the PC versions of Steam and STO. It takes a long time to complete, read the directions in the article below. It works well so far. No difference in performance that I can see. Reddit is pretty thorough with their article here... I am happy to be playing STO again.

Seasons Greetings to all, All day this Sunday and next Sunday December 20th and 27th I will be hosting Star Trek Online events ranging from Badlands Battlezone to Starbase defenses, Arc episodes and any team requests. Possible pre-start Saturday evenings. This is an excellent opportunity for up-coming officers and Non-commisioned officers (PO3 and up) to hone their command abilities as each battle will have a different leader. Expect in-game rewards for Teamspeak participants ranging from Superior upgrades, EC, and Custom made R&D items from those Craft-happy elves. Greetings pilots! I have made a few discoveries in team play that may make things roll smoother for all players no matter the experience level. Recently, I have lead squads with a variety of pilot level experience. If care is not taken to set matches up properly, the lowest level player could find themselves quite outmatched. There are a few things as squad leader you can check before going into battle: Decide on a tier before the game. Make a preset for that tier if you haven't already. Mouse over your teammates' names in the Squad window to see which aircraft and at what Battle Rating they are flying at. Battle ratting is important. Theoretically, it sends you into higher tier matches. Mouse over your aircraft to find your rating and try to match it with your team's average rating as to not out-class them and cause an un-balanced match. If leading multiple squads, have the squad leaders report ready and begin battle with a "3-2-1-CLICK". Don't wait for the word click, go on the anticipation of the word for synchronization.Try this experiment: All members using first time planes or tanks in a new country or as close to 1.0 new as possible. You will find you are placed with equal opposition and far less complaints about higher tier aircraft. You may even score first place as many of the players could be new. ThetaTips: Save the crew points in one or two slots for skilled gunners. Then place your bombers and fighter bombers in those crew slots. If you have an aircraft that is not fully modified you can still use it in higher tier matches to get the research points to apply towards your current aircraft research. Do your research, watch at least one youtube video, there is much discussed on team play. Good team play is what its all about. I recommend videos by long5hot. Crew points should also be spent on Vitality as a priority among others.Thanks for reading and replying. All are welcome to add corrections and additional tips on the subject of Squad Leader.
